Dancing with Vero’s Stars (DWVS) has been a beloved part of Vero Beach’s nonprofit scene since its debut on March 14, 2009, at the Vero Beach Elks Hall. What began with fewer than 400 attendees and just under $40,000 raised has grown into the signature fundraising event for the Indian River County Healthy Start Coalition.

In partnership with Riverside Theatre, DWVS showcases local stars performing tempting tangos, sizzling salsas, and jiving jitterbugs alongside professional dance instructors.

But DWVS is more than just a dazzling night of entertainment—it’s about giving every baby a healthy start. Our mission is to support a local care system for mothers, fathers, families, and babies in Indian River County. With only 38% of our funding coming from the state—and much of it restricted—DWVS helps raise vital, unrestricted funds to support essential services.

On May 16, 2026, we proudly celebrated our 14th Dancing with Vero’s Stars event, raising more than $668,955 to support Healthy Start and the families we serve. Fueled by an exceptional fundraising team, generous community support, and thoughtful cost-saving efforts, this year was truly unforgettable. We are deeply inspired by our 10 dedicated ambassadors—Tina, Melissa, Ryan, Brian, Brandy, Paige, David, Susan, Justin, and Rob—who devoted months to fundraising and dance training, ultimately setting a record that will be hard to surpass. Your passion and commitment were nothing short of phenomenal.

We look forward to the return of Dancing with Vero’s Stars in May 2027 and another incredible evening of impact and inspiration!
